Your questions, answered.

What to know before joining the network.

How can I find customers for my 3D printing workshop with FRED?

Introduce your workshop to join the FRED network. Once your application is approved, compatible manufacturing requests may be offered based on incoming orders, your capabilities and availability. You receive an email when a request needs your response.

Do I have to accept every request?

No. Review each request and accept or decline it in your manufacturer workspace. A request left unanswered may expire and be offered to another workshop.

Do I need a large 3D print farm?

You can apply with workshops of different sizes. Order access depends on application review and your actual ability to make, inspect, pack and ship the requested products.

Who provides the shipping documents and label?

FRED brings together instructions and order documents in the manufacturer workspace. A shipping label is available during parcel preparation once the required information is provided. You print the label, pack the parcel and hand it to the carrier.

How are my prices and payouts set?

You enter your workshop’s prices for materials and preparation. Your workspace shows manufacturing earnings and payout tracking under the terms applicable to your account and the order.

Does joining guarantee orders?

No. FRED is in private beta and workshop applications are reviewed. The number of requests then depends on actual orders and whether your workshop can manufacture and ship them.
