You own the customer relationship. FRED coordinates the manufacturing steps.

  1. Connect your store

    Once beta access is activated, link the connector to your FRED account and select the brand used for orders.

  2. Map your products

    Prepare models and configurations in FRED, then map Shopify variants to the corresponding manufacturing variants.

  3. Approve the order

    Orders for linked products arrive in FRED. Review the configuration, quote and required approvals before manufacturing.

  4. Manufacture and track

    Following payment confirmation, FRED looks for compatible capacity. Shipment tracking returns to the Shopify fulfillment workflow.

A connection activated during the beta.

The Shopify connector exists. Installation and activation are supported during the private beta. Request access so we can check whether your store and products can be connected.

You need a FRED account, a Shopify store and models you have the right to sell. A FRED API key links the two workspaces. The connector does not automatically turn every existing product into a printable object.

Prepare a variant that can be manufactured.

Your Shopify listing describes what customers buy. The FRED configuration describes what the workshop makes: model, dimensions, material, colours and any personalisation options. The mapping must remain explicit.

Start with one product and order a sample. Check its physical result before publishing photographs, a selling price or delivery commitments.

  • A correctly prepared STL, 3MF or OBJ file.
  • Variants mapped to the correct manufacturing configurations.
  • A brand and verified order settings.

Keep sales and manufacturing costs clear.

The selling price in your store and the FRED manufacturing cost belong to different steps. The FRED quote reflects the configuration and destination. Use it with your other business costs to plan a margin.

Receiving a Shopify order alone does not start a print. The FRED workflow retains the required approvals, payment confirmation and search for a compatible manufacturer.

Base delivery promises on a real order.

Lead time depends on the file, quantity, manufacturing capacity and transport. Check the conditions offered for the order before promising customers a date.

Once an order ships, tracking lets the store and seller follow the parcel. Test the complete journey with one product before expanding your catalogue.

Can I install the connector today?

Activation takes place during the private beta. Introduce your store in the access request so we can check its prerequisites and the workflow for your products.

Do I need to buy printers?

You prepare products and orders. FRED looks for compatible capacity in its partner manufacturer network, so you do not need to run your own workshop.

Does every order automatically start printing?

Products must be mapped first. Orders then go through the required approvals and payment in FRED before manufacturing is requested.
