Broken drawer handle: measure before replacing
The key dimension for a broken two-hole drawer handle is its fixing-centre distance, not its overall length. Measure the cabinet and assess the loads before considering a custom printed replacement.

Measure the mounting
Record hole centres on the panel, base footprint, overall width and finger clearance. A broken handle may already be distorted, so do not rely on it alone.
Check the underlying cause
Repair stiff runners, an overloaded drawer or a damaged panel first. Keep the screw specification and match engagement to the replacement fixing.
Design the complete load path
The grip, its two supports and the fixing areas must work together. Layer orientation, transitions and metal fixings matter; high infill alone does not solve a weak joint.
Compare finish and total cost
State moisture, cleaners and nearby heat. Printed surfaces may show layers. Include modelling and delivery when comparing the project with a standard handle of the same fixing size.
Try one handle first
Both holes must align without bending the part. Check flat contact and gentle operation on a freely moving drawer. Revise any sample that cracks, deforms or loosens before producing more.
Prepare suitable manufacturing with FRED
Prepare a checked STL, 3MF or OBJ for the intended use. FRED, currently in private beta, lets you configure manufacturing from that file, review the quote and follow the order with a partner manufacturer. Confirm available materials and capabilities before ordering.
Measurement and mechanical modelling are separate from manufacturing a supplied file. Present your brief when requesting access to clarify feasibility. The cover is an AI-generated illustration, not evidence of a repair tested by FRED.
