From a 3D file to an order
Start with a model you created or have the right to sell. In FRED, prepare the file and choose dimensions, material and colours. Slicing prepares the print layers and provides the basis for the quote.
Review the configuration and price before confirming. File analysis helps identify problems; a sample is still useful for checking appearance, dimensions and how the part works in practice.
Who prints and ships the order?
After confirmation, payment and required approvals, FRED looks for compatible capacity in its farm network. The workshop manufactures, checks and packs the order. You follow progress in FRED and configure the available branding options for parcels.
FRED is based in Europe and is gradually developing this network. Proximity can shorten transport, but lead time also depends on machine availability and manufacturing time.
Example: selling a desk organiser
You photograph a sample and offer two colours in your store. For each sale, you pass on the correct variant, quantity and delivery address. Manufacturing follows order approval: you do not need a shelf full of each colour before discovering which sells.
The Shopify connector requires installation and activation during the beta. A custom site can use the API. MCP lets a compatible assistant read your account and help prepare orders, which still need approval in FRED.
Which costs should you include?
The quote details the costs applicable to your order: manufacturing, FRED fees, shipping, options and VAT. Include samples, design, store fees and after-sales support in your own calculation.
This model can suit product trials, multiple variants and small quantities. Regular, predictable demand may make a batch more attractive. Compare both before choosing.
